Privacy policy

Who we are

My Brand ("we", "us") sells domain names that we own. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We are based in Ontario, Canada, and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

  • When you send an inquiry: your name, your email address, the domain you are asking about, your message and, only if you choose to give them, your phone number and budget.
  • Technical information: your IP address, which we use to stop the form being abused, and the standard records any web server keeps (the address of the page, your browser type and the time).

We never ask for payment details on this website. Purchases are completed on a marketplace's own checkout (see below).

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not follow you around other websites. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers to fetch them; Google's privacy policy applies to that connection.

How we use your information

  • to reply to your inquiry, and to discuss and complete a sale;
  • to keep records of sales and correspondence, as the law requires;
  • to protect this website against spam and abuse.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not send you marketing unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

  • Marketplaces and escrow services (for example Spaceship, Afternic, Sedo or Dan.com) when you buy through their checkout. You give your details to them directly, under their own privacy policies.
  • Our service providers, such as our web host and email provider, who store or process information on our behalf.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and correspondence for as long as we need them to answer you and complete any sale, and after that for as long as tax and business record rules require. Our web host keeps server logs for a short time.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, unless we must keep it by law. You can also withdraw your consent to us using it, which may mean we can no longer answer your inquiry. To do any of this, write to us through our contact page.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
